Overwinter Survival

Overwinter survival of perennial plants can be increased by helping facilitate sugar movement and the carbon fixation period of the plant entering dormancy.

This increases the strength of the sink or storage tissues resulting in:

  • Plants overwintering better
  • Earlier greenup in the spring
  • Increased tillering (for wheat and grasses)
  • Reduced fall vegetative growth
  • Improved crown girth and runner development (for strawberries)
  • More uniform bud break for more yield and higher quality the next season
